PAT Testing

We offer PAT Testing across the North East of Scotland, including Dundee, Angus, Fife, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Perthshire. 

PAT stands for portable appliance testing. Electrical appliances and equipment are routinely inspected in order to make sure they can be used safely in the workplace and any other public place. The purpose for PAT testing is to stop any electrical accidents or fires.

PAT testing measurement

The following regulations expect your portable appliances to be maintained and safe:

  • Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974
  • The Electricity at Work Regulations of 1989
  • The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations of 1998
  • The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations of 1999

There are 3 main factors which are taken into consideration :

  • The risk level of the working environment
  • The electrical class of the appliance
  • The category of the appliance
